Two years ago, we were searching for the highest Andean peaks, we got to Bolivia. Between the Andean bands of the Western Cordillera and the Eastern Cordillera there is an Altiplano plateau with a height of approx. 4,000 m above sea level. Near the Chilean border grows out the volcano Sajama – the highest mountain of Bolivia. Height 6542 m above sea level gives Sajama 13th place on the list of the highest peaks of America, but its shape and environment make it considered one of the most elegant peaks in the whole Andes.
