A drawing can express something that cannot be told in words. With the help of illustrations we can give visual form to emotions, images. Illustration is also a way of expressing thoughts, a tool to comment on reality. When related to the literature, it supplements or completes the content. Such issues will be addressed during workshop based on the author’s program, during which each participant will make their own illustrations. Each class is dedicated to a different topic and a technique adapted to its implementation. We will create on paper, in different formats, we will use drawing and painting techniques (e.g. watercolour, ecoline paints, tempera, pencils, crayons, and collage). We will create works from the imagination and based on the photographic material. We will also discuss the rules of composition, the meaning of colours, contrast, deformation, space, capturing the movement. Little artists will get acquainted with the work of Polish and foreign illustrators, we will get acquainted with interesting albums and presentations, which will serve as inspiration. Thanks to the classes, the participants will be able to freely use artistic techniques and means of art, they will realize their ideas on their own and will approach drawing and painting without fear. The series of classes will end with a joint exhibition and publication, containing the most interesting children’s works.
