Goals and assumptions
Each participant taking part in year-long, regular classes will gain practical film knowledge and get to know the ins and outs of the whole process of filmmaking, with a special focus on animated film.
When working on a film, cooperation is key, but so is individual work. That is why, we are trying to find a balance between joint work and creative autonomy. We initiate brainstorms, share ideas, comments, support participants with our skills and inspire them. It is a very important stage of work when creating a movie. That way, the participants discover in a group each other?s individual abilities and talents, learn cooperation, respect for their skills and co-responsibility for the entire project. They stimulate their imaginations, look for joint solution, and motivate each other to keep up the good work.
Animated film workshops offer a very inspiring and creative way of spending time. We are in a place where anything can happen and everything depends only on our own imagination and the means of expression we choose: sounds, music, modelling clay, paper cut-outs, drawings, salt, paints, puppets, and even people! Because we can also animate ourselves. During the classes, children and teenagers are going create many animated short films, learn to use different visual art techniques and software for creating film animation. They will go through all stages of production ? from conception to the final screening.
The aim of the workshop is to take the participants to the point where they are able to create their own short film, make them more sensitive to the surrounding world, and teach them how to express their sensibility, feeling, and emotions using the language of art and film. The classes develop manual and art skills such as drawing, writing, listening, and imagination. In terms of its aim, the workshop includes elements of art, technical, musical, Polish studies, and social education.
The films created during the classes are going to be shown on the big screen in a real cinema. The children will have the opportunity to showcase their talents and achievements in a celebratory atmosphere of a film premiere and invite numerous guests.
Our experience up to this point proves that it is a very important and pleasant day ? the culmination of an entire year of creative efforts. We send the films to children shows and film festivals. This year, a movie our students created during the classes won the main prize in Poznań in the children movies category.
During the classes, the participants have to draw on their knowledge from the field of Polish studies as well as imagination in the areas of mathematics and physics, art and technology, and sound and music. Creating animated movies includes a whole array of various disciplines and uses the limitless creativity of the child…. In addition, each participant taking part in regular classes will gain practical film knowledge and get to know the ins and outs of the whole process of filmmaking, with a special focus on animated film.
